Our Group Fitness Strength Program Philosophy
Video Transcript:
Hi my name is Kevin. I’m the Fitness Director and one of the Co-Founders here at REVFIT. The REVFIT workout program is my baby. And I’m here to the nonsense and just give you an overview of what our workout program is.
What I wanted to do was bridge personal training and group fitness. What you do with a one on one personal training client and what you normally do in group fitness typically has a massive gap. But we do at REVFIT bridges that gap. And it works.
I want to start with periodization. Periodization is doing something for a certain amount of time and then changing it all up. At REVFIT you're going to see us do something 4 to 12 weeks.
My belief is the basics of work. A squat is a squat. A deadlift is a deadlift. Our goal is to get stronger over time. The only way to do that is to do things repeatedly over time. Get good at it and your body starts to see good progress that's like a learning curve. And then the moment your body starts to get used to it just a little bit, we're going to change it up and you'll continue on that growth curve. That is why you'll never plateau here at REVFIT.
Next, I want to talk about what it's going to feel like. I don't know about you, but I've been in a lot of group fitness classes to where it's literally the trainers are saying “go, go, go,” and it’s nonstop work. And they say “Why are you resting?” There's not a single kinesiology book that actually has that written in it. There's certain protocols you have to follow so that your body can get stronger, so that's what you're going to see here at REVFIT. There's going to be days that you walk in, we're going to ask you to take 60 to 90 seconds to rest and that's OK. I want you to enjoy it. The reason being is that's how long it takes for your body to truly recover the ATP to get to our muscles, and the energy production to be able to output the way it will actually make your body change.
So you're never see nonstop work. Trust me, I'll pair that work with other blocks where we are going to get your heart rate up quite a bit, but during those blocks where we actually asked you to rest, this is what's great for your body. This is actually how we build lean muscle mass so your metabolism increases and you can live a longer healthier life. So just trust the process.
The last thing I want to talk about today is you're gonna be championed by some of the best trainers in Fort Worth. I always talk about them beig the most qualified fitness instructors in the area. The reason being is what we do is constant education. And I only hire people that have done one on one personal training before. We hire people that are personally training qualified, not just a group fitness instructor. And no shame on them, it's just a different qualification. It's a little bit deeper knowledge of how to adjust, fix and modify someone with a certain ailments and certain issues and certain injuries, all of the above. They will know how to make this workout fit for you based on your needs.
Quick recap:
Periodization. We're going to do things for a certain amount of time to make sure that you're good at them and that you get stronger in them.
We are not about nonstop work. Our goal is to work hard and rest hard. We're going to give yout ample time to actually hit a good set.
And 3 you’re going to be backed by some of the best trainers in the industry that are constantly learning about hips, ankles, knees, lower back, pregnancies, people that might be following any type of trend, we stay on top of that trend and make sure that we know how to talk to you about it, you know how to train it to it.
It is your chance friends! That is what the program in a nutshell is all about…you have to experience it to feel it. Come check us out and I'm excited to meet you in the studio!
